Dafna grew up in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico, and moved to Atlanta when she was 12 years old. The intersection of being both Mexican and Jewish has influenced her approach to cooking; bringing a unique perspective and taste to the table. Dafna attended the Culinary Institute of America where she obtained multiple scholarships and sponsorships. Additionally, this is where Dafna found her love for the Hudson Valley, which will be shown through Dafna’s Kitchen.
Dafna Mizrahi is a woman who does it all - Chopped Champion, restauranteur, entrepreneur, and chef. There’s nothing that Dafna can’t do.
Over the last 10 years, Dafna has helped open, operate, and manage a variety of restaurants. Additionally, Dafna has started Kids to Table (@chef.dafna.mizrahi), which helps children learn how to cook through hands-on-teaching. Kids to Table emphasizes the importance of mindful eating, while empowering a new generation of chefs. Her contribution to her community is by sharing her wellness journey.
Dafna’s Kitchen is a concept that applies to everyone – the avid chef as well as the one who’s goal is to spend the least amount of time in the kitchen. Dafna strives to create recipes with alternative ingredients – recipes that are not all that unfamiliar yet are made HEALTHY by various cooking methods and ingredient substitutions. Dafna states that “Cooking is made to be fun and nourish not only your body but your soul”. She develops these easy recipes so that more people can find themselves loving the kitchen.
As honeycomb’s lead nutrition ambassador, Dafna will host live cooking segments and share her personal health and wellness journey with the community through honeycomb’s Instagram and YouTube channels.
